Module 1: Trust


Lesson 1: Course intro. Earn student's trust, compelling them to take the course seriously, and telling them what they'll be learning.

Lesson 2: "How we hurt each other with love." A visual representation of how we interact and impact each other.

Lesson 3: Exercise 1. A questionnaire to record their degree of resentment, which will be assessed by them later in the course for introspection.

Module 2: Being self defined

Lesson 1: "Mirror Eyes" An abstract short story about a world in which people have mirrors instead of eyes.

Lesson 2: I am not who you think I am. Students are made aware of the notion that who they believe they are is a combination of who they are by nature, and how their environment has been conditioning them to be.

Lesson 3: Our Values. It isn't enough to choose to be self defined, we must also take into consideration where we place our values - ideally on things that help us grow on the inside.

Module 3: About resentment

Lesson 1: "The most good looking person ever" A thought experiment. Imagine you're the most good looking person in the world but no one has ever told you that...

Lesson 2: The issue of control. Discusses the relationship between life satisfaction and the level of control we believe we have over our lives, and that we shouldn't expect to have total control of our lives.

Lesson 3: What is resentment? The negative emotion experienced when we're unable to convince others of our value.

Lesson 4: Exercise 3 - the two fears.

Module 4: Identifying resentment

Lesson 1: How resentment distorts our thinking. It leads us to think pessimistically, preventing us from coming up with solutions to our problems.

Lesson 2: "The food guy and the water guy" A story to demonstrate the outcomes of game theory.

Lesson 3: Identifying resentment by monitoring 2 things: their degree of defensiveness, and the ease to which they allow themselves to become defensive.

Module 5: Managing resentment

Lesson 1: An internal locus of control for minimizing resentment. Focus on controlling your attitude.

Lesson 4: "How to not hate people" Imagine that one day, you wake up and no one else is on the planet.

Lesson 5: Exercise 5 - Courage Appreciation

Module 6: Channeling resentment

Lesson 1: The best version of you is the version that aims for self actualization, rather than esteem and belongingness.

Lesson 2: Expressing vs. suppressing vs. channelling resentment. The pros and cons of channeling rather than expressing or suppressing resentment.

Lesson 3: Why it's feasible. Introduces students to entrepreneurial role models to emulate.

Lesson 4: What it's going to take. Patience, listening to the advice of role models, believing in yourself, self forgiveness, learner's mindset, etc.
